i would very much like to explore the depressed boneless spider cat in casual settings more, yes! Like dude goes from short shy king, then gets stretched out like jack skellington and just as flexible, with flaming dragon eyes and ghost fire hair Danny phantom style. Boy can contort while crawling up walls, fold in half to drape over momo and still drag the floor, go from normal pouty face to bite you in half, is there an in between? Does he get fangs as time goes? Even without the mask mouth does it look like too many teeth when he yawns? Dragging sad wet cat across the floor to keep him from clawing at the mean people bothering HIS person. Dude literally switches between two and four legs with no thought put into it.

More DanDaDan AUS!

First one at the top is called Bonded AU - After a brutal fight with aliens, Momo is severely injured. She wakes up the next day and realizes to her horror, she can no longer feel her legs.

No one knows if this is permanent or temporary, even several doctors are unsure of her fate, so until then, Momo has to get used to being unable to walk.

This is devastating for her, but Momo puts on brave face and does her damned best to make sure her life continues on like normal. In the end though, it's Okarun who becomes her rock.

Every since the accident he has been glued to her side, carrying her everywhere without complaint or hesitation. Momo gets so used to it that when she gets her wheelchair, she secretly hates it, missing the feeling of Okarun's warmth and constant presence.

Her powers on the other hand are quickly growing stronger and her increased closeness with Okarun has accidentally caused her to form some kind of bond between the two, one where they can feel the other's emotions and pain.

Small notes: Momo still fights, but she has to have Okarun carry her in battle (which he is more than happy to do). In Yokai form, his clothes will now coil around her body, keeping her secure no matter how fast he runs. Okarun secretly blames himself a lot for Momo's injury, but uses that guilt to push himself to become even stronger and he does whatever he can to make her happy.

After regaining his family jewels and giving his powers back to Turbo granny, Okarun and Momo go out to celebrate at the new Arcade in town, but on the way back home they are attacked.

Momo is somehow bitten by a Vampire and poor Okarun gets the same treatment but from a werewolf. Now the two have to deal with being real flesh and blood monsters, on top of still dealing with Alien attacks and angry Yokai.

Easily flustered Okarun, who gets so embarrassed when you give him a big fat smooch on the cheek, all because he bought you your favourite brand of banana milk.

Super shy Okarun, who’s so quiet around you most of the time, but isn’t afraid to be bold whenever he’s transformed into his yokai form.

Turbo Okarun, who gives you other nicknames besides ‘babe’, because he believes you need a special one exclusively for you.

Over protective Okarun, who is both relieved and upset when you too, get possessed by a yokai and attain its powers, meaning that there’s a less chance of him losing you, but a more chance of you getting hurt in fights.

Apologetic Okarun, who immediately realises you’re upset when Aira doesn’t know when to take a hint, her advances towards him make you jealous, and he does everything in his power to reassure you that nothing could come between you too.

Embarrassed Okarun, who is quick to ask his only female friend Momo Ayase for help when he doesn’t know how to initiate physical affection with you properly.

Easily flustered Okarun who is then taken aback by your sudden forwardness to physical contact and intimacy, unbeknownst to the fact that Momo snitched on him to you the moment he came to ask for help.

Jealous Okarun, who doesn’t know how to act when Jiji suddenly takes a quick liking to you after he is introduced to the friend group. He’s then so touchy and clingy with you whenever he is around. Not that you’re complaining though.

Okarun, who’s the most loveable boy ever, who thinks about you all the time, who never fails to surprise you with gifts whenever he can, who always makes you smile and laugh and who is always happy to be around you.

Okarun, who’s never afraid to say how he feels about you.

Okarun, who’s always there when you’re in a bad mood, always giving you a shoulder to cry on.

Okarun, who realises he loves you first, vowing to protect you for the rest of his life.

when momo got herself involved with yokai, aliens, curses and aira.. she worried deeply for her little sibling, you. you were barely seven years old, turning eight in a few months. how were you possibly supposed to understand the complexities and the rather haunting paranormal activity she was constantly in when you were only a child?

well in the end, it didn't really matter, because the moment you caught eye of turbo grannys form as a maneki neko—you were ecstatic. momo supposedly didn't even have to use her powers to catch her when she tried escaping, cause you grabbed onto her and never seemed to let go. "kitty!" you exclaimed with such joy, excited to have a new plaything. while turbo granny scowled, screamed, and tried to push you off, obviously not really having much vigor as you were but a baby. she was a curse but she had a heart.

after a while of living with the ayase family, turbo granny had grown accustomed to your existence. she entertained your foolish needs to always play, even feeding you when that damn seiko lady was out doing interviews and exorcists and.. gods know where momo and okarun were. sometimes she even cuddled with you during your nap times after a rather 'dramatic' outburst of crying for around 30 minutes.

also, despite turbo grannys rather vulgar mouth, she was the one who told everyone to 'hush up' their cursing and suggestive language, especially when talking about okarun's 'family jewels' and whatnot. "you lot are already a lost cause, leave the kid outta it." is usually what she mutters while covering your ears and glaring at momo's odd friends and annoying grandma. (as turbo granny would describe them)

and because it's common in japan for kids to walk to school, turbo granny took it upon herself to be your little travel buddy! how sweet. in reality, she wanted to get away from seiko and all the annoying tasks she'd ask the little maneki neko to do, however your safety was also something she often thought about. despite living for so long, turbo granny still gets scared when you walk home alone at night. not because she is afraid of the dark, no, but she's afraid for you. a sweet, young, innocent soul walking the streets at night. if anyone looks odd, or gets a little too close, granny starts screaming bloody murder in your bag to call for the attention of others who are around and check up on you, thankfully scaring off any grunt trying anything.

turbo granny is still a compassionate soul at heart, and you've rekindled her flame to remind her of her cause and curse. despite seeking revenge for girls who were killed brutally and unjustly, she found more peace in protecting and caring for living souls, and especially you. <3

I'm more of a draw-er than a words-er, but I wanted to ramble a bit here under the cut ^^ Thanks again for the ask, I am so happy to have another reason to yap about Turbo Okarun~

While I'm glad that the manga/anime didn't spend too much time on Okarun's struggles in canon, I am having So Much Fun thinking of ways to torture this guy haha. We see him complaining that the curse hurts him in the first half of the season, but he doesn't actually seem to end up with any lasting damage! In my mind, it'd make sense for him to end up more fatigued or to suffer from random nosebleeds or other internal injuries due to the curse manipulating his body the way it does.

I also looooved the instances in episodes 5/6 when he transformed without meaning to! Very fun to see his emotions getting the better of him~

Now, if I were a fic writer, I would be so interested in exploring physical side effects in something like a sick fic. What if he detransforms and finds that he can't warm back up? Still corpse-cold like his yokai form instead of human temperature? Or, I could take a page out of NatsuYuu's book and have him come down with a cold/fever as a consequence of some of his tougher fights? Lots of good potential for angst there, for sure ^^

And lastly, what if he was on a timer the minute he transformed?? What if staying transformed and going all out began chipping away at his sanity? It's not his power, after all. Stay in Turbo Mode too long and suddenly he's a prisoner in his own mind. The curse takes over and he's just along for the ride, no longer able to control his body. >:3

I was thinking about something…

Spoilers under the cut!

It’s curious how every other girl who fell for Okarun did after seeing him like Turbokarun or after his “glow up” of confidence.

Like Aira and Vamola fell for him after meeting his yokai form, when he was strong, fast and depressed haha. Although their encounters were in different contexts (Aira thought he was a demon and Vamola was looking for a strong man to marry).

And what to say about Rin, who literally made a self insert fanfic with him as a vampire in her mind. Again as well, after noticing his yokai form.

But with Momo was different. She fell for him when he was still the invisible weird boy, no strength nor social skills at all. Not even balls 😭 He was really self conscious about his true self poor baby and worried about making Momo tired of him. Even when he got curse he didn’t want to disturb her with his problem.

It was in that exact scene, when he handed her his uniform to wear and said his famous line when Momo fell. This kind little and shy gentleman won the baddie’s heart and he didn’t even notice.

And she thought “what a loser, I wanna smooch him so bad” or something like that hahaha

Momo fell first but Ken fell harder.
